MSNBC political analyst Juanita Tolliver said on “Deadline” Thursday that President-elect Donald Trump and his supporters “choose to reject reality on a regular basis.”
Guest host Alicia Menendez said, “If that’s the strategy, and the strategy is to be the hero, there has to be a villain,” she said, adding that she hasn’t even decided who the villain is yet. Then that would mean the current president. Joe Biden is a villain, former President Justin Trudeau is a villain, lovingly but illegally occupying the Panama Canal. It seems that they are also villains. This is not what we expect from the presidential leadership. This is the policy and the imperial presidency.
“I want to emphasize that point about imperialism, because Donald Trump does not want to be president,” Tolliver said. “I want to be a dictator on day one, and that reflects authoritarian behavior,” he said on stage during the campaign. What that allows to be real is something permanent that Donald Trump sees for example, which also includes a Vladimir Putin, right? It’s weird to see it play out like this.”
She added, “I was quite sad because after reading it I realized that there is no point in telling Trump or his supporters that none of this is true, none of this is based on reality or facts. . Yes, you should learn the difference between forgiveness and commutation. None of this matters, because they choose to reject reality on a regular basis.
