Openai has drawn a video of a very discussion, promoting friendship between CEO Sam Altman and Lagendary Apple Designer Jony IVE (Plus, Openai’s $ 6.5 billion deal) from its website and YouTube page.
Is it suggested that with some acquisitions, or to lead the design work in Openai with plans for IVE? According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, not at all, who reports that “the deal is on track and has not been dissolved or has nothing.” Instead, he said that a judge has issued a preventive order on the name IO, forcing the company to pull all materials.
Openai later confirmed that this is the case, updating the old declaration page with a statement, “This page is temporarily about our use of ‘IO’ after a trademark complaint from IYO due to a court order. We do not agree with the complaint and are reviewing our options.”
The company said it does not affect the deal with IO.
The IYO emerged from the alphabet X “Moonshot Factory” under consideration, and its first declared product is a set of generative AI-powered earbuds. An earlier report by Bloomberg Law said that IYO had brought a trademark case against Openai, the judge suggested that it was open to the company’s argument that Openai’s promotional video could already create consumer confusion.
For now, at least, the video is worth watching on X.
