Former Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee was upset Sunday after watching his old team fall out of the playoff race with a loss to the New York Giants.
Indianapolis had three turnovers and allowed four Drew Lock touchdown passes in the 45–33 loss. The Colts fell to 7–9 on the season and were officially out of contention.
McAfee wrote a scathing post on X, criticizing the organization, rebuking those who tried to “run him out of town” and announcing that he would not be renewing his season tickets.

“A blind man can see red flags on this team.. Questions of work ethic, never happen on good teams.. Questions of preparation commitment, never happen on good teams.. Coming late to meetings, never happen on good teams. Doesn’t happen.. Late/skiping treatment, never happens on good teams.. Franchise QB (Anthony Richardson) was ejected from the game.. on 3rd down.. in the red zone.. because he was tired.. This never happened. in NFL history,” McAfee wrote.
“That’s literally the only thing you need to tell anybody (who knows ball) and they can tell you everything about this team…”
He wrote that if a franchise quarterback left in the middle of a game because he was tired, the “immediate reaction” would be that the team had “no chance.”
“And to no one’s surprise… this was the reaction from everyone who has ever played/coached the game before but.. Colts blogs and fans who have been covering the Colts since 2020 and more recently from everyone Knew better…began attacking me personally and trying to run me out of town,” McAfee continued.

“When I said Joe Flacco gives us a better chance to win than AR right after a tap out… I would have said whatever backup QB we have on the roster. The face of your team can’t do that. No way. Coulda..and somehow AR thought it was ok to do this..it’s a cultural issue..it’s indicative of a loser attitude. Was created by great people.
“I don’t know how they fix it.. I don’t think it’s like a light switch. “Okay, we’re going to be professional now” But… maybe it is, but what do I know?
“Oh wait…how’s this all going to work out. I knew it.”
McAfee said he would not be renewing his season tickets and hoped the team would return to winning ways.
“As a multi-year season ticket holder (not renewing)… and someone who has actively, on a daily basis, tried to connect this beautiful city. I hope they are a good franchise again.” Will become…this city deserves it…the OG Colts building deserves it (equipment managers, trainers, ticketing, PR, sales)…and on the other hand the players/coaches in that building deserve your unfair ego, laziness and professionalism You deserve another one Leading to an early holiday…which is probably what most of you entitled people are expecting.
“I don’t speak for the city.. and I don’t speak for all former Colts players as I was just a punter.. been nominated for the HOF 3 times so far but still.. I speak from my perspective …I’ve never seen a group waste more opportunities/talent/money than this group.”
