Kuala Lumpur: Saba has confirmed his position as a ‘favorite destination of Malaysia’, generating extraordinary visitor interests at Matta Fair Kuala Lumpur last month.
The forty tour and housing operators of Saba contributed to record-breaking RM5.1 million in sales.
It represents a 14.2% increase in April 2025 as compared to Saba’s introduction and increased by 46.8% from the same period in September 2024 last year.
During the binary program held at Mitech Hall, Kuala Lumpur, Saba captured 94 booths, showing his diverse journey Prasad.
The major delegation of the state was led by the President of Saba Tourism Board (STB) and Assistant Minister of Culture and Environment, Datuk Joniston Bangui.
In this program, Datuk Joniston officially launched three new holiday packages: Family Holiday Package, Kudat Holiday Package and Tawau Holiday Package.
The launch was attended by the Ministry of Tourism, Sarmrain Sathsivam, Deputy General Secretary of Arts and Culture, Nigel Wong, President of Matta, Matta Fair, Chairman and STB Vice President Datuk Tan Kok Liang, STB CEO Julinus Jeffrey Gimit, and the leading figures participated to participate for Senior Senior of Tourism Malaysia.
Julinus Jeffrey Zimit said, “We are very encouraged by a strong response to Saba’s participation in Matta Fair Kuala Lumpur.”
“The incident highlights Saba’s ongoing appeal and increasing interest in our state’s natural beauty, rich cultural heritage and vibrant tourism offerings. The launch of new holiday packages expands opportunities for visitors to detect Saba.”
Visitors who bought new packages were eligible to subdue special cash discounts and limited-sanskrit STB merchandise to terms and conditions. The package is also booked through the new marketplace of the Saba Tourism Board, Hellosabah.com.
STB demonstrated its commitment to Sustainable Tourism by participating in the Matta Eco and Sustainable Tourism Initiative (Mesti) pavilion.
The booth highlighted the various attractions of Saba with initiative in nature conservation, inheritance protection and permanent tourism practices.
These efforts ensure that the natural and cultural wealth of Saba can be enjoyed by future generations.
The Saba Mandap included traditional sports, a dance challenge and a virtual reality (VR) experience. During the fair, Yuga Budaya dance troupe performed lively cultural performances, while famous Sabahan singer Dabra Sia entertained visitors with his hit songs and dance participation.
Additionally, the fair announced the upcoming Flemwave Music Festival, which is a major event scheduled on 25–26 October 2025 in Kota Kinbalu, organized by Olumis Consulting and Technology SDN BHD.
The top favorite for passengers looking for the iconic destinations of Saba – such as Kundasang, Semporna, and Kota Kinabalu – exceptional natural beauty and rich cultural diversity.
