Small Business Administration (SBA) administrator Kelly Lofler revealed that the SBA would take its regional office out of Los Angeles after Mayor Karen Bass refuses to cooperate with the US immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) agency.
One in Post On X, Lofler responded to a post stating that she was “deeply upset” after hearing the “federal immigration enforcement operations report” being taken in the city. In the statement of Bass, he said that his office was in “close coordination with immigrant rights with community organizations” and “would not stand for it.”
“Los Angeles is openly refusing to cooperate with ice – siding with illegal aliens on American citizens and small businesses.” “So, immediately effective, @Sbagov will start to exclude your regional office from LA”
“If a city will not protect its people, we will not live,” said Lofler.
Amy Furr of Breitbart News earlier stated that on Friday night, more than 40 people were arrested “during the immigration raid” and as ICE officials carried out four search warrants in the city of Los Angeles.
NBC Los Angeles reported that “about two dozen people were detained at the parking lot of a home depot”, and that “federal agents were also seen going to two offices of the environment apparel.”
The US Attorney for the Central District of California Bill Eselie told the outlet that the “search warrant” was served in businesses, and explained that “the possible reason was that they were using fictional documents to appoint people.”
Breitbart News had earlier stated that Loeffler announced in March that SBA sanctuary would transfer offices out of cities such as Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, New York City and Seattle, which did not cooperate with the ice, as the agency also abolished “taxing benefits”.
“Today, I am happy to declare that this agency will cut out access to loans for illegal aliens and exclude our regional offices from sanctuary cities that reward criminal behavior,” Lofler said in a statement in March. “We will focus our focus to empower legal, eligible business owners across the United States – in partnership with municipalities that share the commitment of this administration to safe borders and safe communities.”
