Johannesburg: South African people on Thursday angry over US President Donald Trump’s consecutive false claims against white farmers, who were repeated in a conversation with President Cyril Ramposa.
The talks between the two presidents on Wednesday were to repair the relations that had taken over since Trump took over in January, threatening high trade tariffs and expelled to the South African Ambassador.
“I am not happy,” University student Nicole MBHLE told AFP. He said, “He appeared that we want to kill white people or white farmers for our land or want it back,” he said.
A video broke during the meeting depicted the leader of a fringe, by the radical opposition party, “Killed the white farmers” chanting a song of the anti -apartheid struggle.
Trump also reiterated the baseless allegations that the South Africa minority white Africans, the land from the descendants of the Dutch settled, was the owner of the more than three-fourth of the commercial farm.
25 -year -old saleswoman Naldi Morewale said, “Donald Trump does not have facts about what is happening in South Africa.” She “was making false accusations about our country,” she said.
South African people followed a live meeting on television and many were proud of the performance of the South African delegation, reinforced by four cabinet ministers and two top golfers.
While some said that Ramfosa may be more adamant in rejecting the baseless claims of Trump’s “white massacre”, others noted their cool pushbacks that black South African people suffer from high crime rates.
“I think our country did well and really excluded the facts from there,” said activist Ulrig Steincamp. “Does the world answer, is above them,” he said.
The video played during the meeting, in which Trump falsely stated that the lines of white crosses were also shown in the graves of the white farmers, clearly Ramposa said, “said Thelela Nagaten-Vika, analyst of the analyst school of governance.
“In the first half of the session, President Ramfosa was very well prepared, was prepared as a politician, diplomat … but when that video played that video you could literally see a change in the language of his voice, he became uncomfortable,” he told the AFP.
He said that Ramfosa should have provided data to reject Trump’s disintegration.
An Africa’s father, offer Williams, told the AFP that the success of the talks would be seen in any trade deals between only two major business partners.
“I sincerely hope that financially we will come on an agreement where it is mutually beneficial and has economic benefits for both sides,” he said.
