SpaceX is preparing for its third Falcon 9 launch in less than two days. The company is aiming for a late afternoon flight from its workhorse pad at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
The Starlink 6-95 mission will be SpaceX’s 295th orbital launch from Space Launch Complex 40 and the 350th overall orbital launch from the site.
Liftoff is scheduled for 3:16 pm EST (2016 UTC), with the rocket flying on a southeast trajectory upon departure from Florida’s Space Coast.
Spaceflight Now’s live coverage will begin approximately one hour before flight.
The 45th Weather Squadron estimated a 70 percent chance of favorable weather when the window was opened, which improved to 80 percent when the window was opened. Meteorologists have expressed concern about possible interference due to the arrival of cold air.
Launch Weather officials wrote, “The front may bring rain and possibly an isolated thunderstorm while conditions improve further away. Strong storm surges are likely, with gusts up to 30 mph.” “Weather conditions currently look poor at the beginning of the primary launch window, then improve toward the end of the window as the front moves south of the region.”
SpaceX will launch the mission using a Falcon 9 booster with tail number 1077. This will be its 25th trip to space and back after missions like Crew-5, GPS III SV06 and CRS-28.
Approximately 8.5 minutes after takeoff, the B1077 drone will aim for a landing on the ship, ‘A Shortfall of Gravitas’. If successful, it will be the 135th landing and 543rd booster landing ever on this ship.
