Perak’s royal couple visited the Jiao An Center to offer condolences to the family of the late former transport minister.
kuala lumpur: The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah and the Rajah Peramasuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim today paid their last respects to the late Tun Dr Ling Leong Sik.
Their Royal Highnesses visited the Xiao An Center here to honor the former transport minister and honorary life president of MCA, who died on Saturday at the age of 82.
Sultan Nazrin wrote words of encouragement in a condolence book for Dr Ling’s family before paying his respects.
The royal couple then took time to console the bereaved family, including Dr Ling’s wife, Toh Puan Ong Ee Nah, and his two sons, Ling Hee Leong and Ling Hee Keat.
Former MCA Chairman Dr Ling was among the country’s longest-serving cabinet members, having headed the Transport Ministry for 17 years from 1986 until his resignation in 2003.
