Qualampur: Lembaga Tabang Haji (Th) announced a profit distribution of 3.25 percent after Zakat for 2024 financial year today, the highest rate in seven years after 2018.
In the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Minister Datuk Dr. Mohammad Nym Mokhtar said that the total profit distribution amount is RM2.92 billion, which benefited more than 9.54 million depositors.
“This rate was achieved after accounting for Zakat payment of 2.5775 percent (RM99.35 million),” he said, “he said at a press conference announcing the profit distribution rate for the 2024 financial year.
Apart from this, TH Board Chairman Tan Mr. Abdul Rashid Hussain, TH Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Datuk Syed Hamdah Syed Otaman and Finance Mustakam Mohammed were the executive director of the group.
Mohammad Nym said that in high profit distribution was motivated by better investment performance, impact of economic development and ongoing efforts to control operating costs along a positive stock market.
“Alhamdulillah, Aaj Tak, the total profit distribution in its 61 -year history is up to RM45.79 billion,” he said.
Mohammad Nym said that deposits can check their 2024 profit distribution, in their accounts from this Sunday, The Lizzian platform, Tabang Haji counters, bank Islam and Banks Rakit counters as well as the electronic banking channels of the strategic partner banks of TH can collect the electronic banking channels of TH Are.
He announced the Zakat payment of RM99.35 million to all the states Islamic religious councils (main) by the depositors for 2024, allocated based on the ratio of the balance deposited in each state.
He said that zakat payments, directly or indirectly, supports the government’s efforts to eliminate staunch poverty.
Mohammad Nym said that as an institution managing the savings deposited for Hajj, T Has assisted more than 1.5 million Muslims in the country to pilgrimage, while since its introduction in 2001, the amount of financial assistance has been covered RM2.8 billion.
Regarding the Zakat Vakalaah program, Mohammad Nyme said that last year had assisted more than 670,000 ASNAF (eligible Zakat recipient) across the country, which benefited more than 2.2 million ASNAF from the initiative in the last decade.
Meanwhile, Syed Hamdah said that the profit distribution declaration complies with the Tabung Haji Act 1995 and was audited by the National Audit Department after the financial statements of 2024.
The profit distribution rate of T was 3.10 percent from 2020 to 2023, while the rates of 2019 and 2018 were 3.05 percent and 1.25 percent respectively.
