How should law firms work to overcome the concerns of moral and transparency around AI?
Priority to seriously data security and privacy
It is important to prioritize data security and privacy to address the concerns of moral and transparency around AI, and that is what we have been in Litera for more than 30 years. This means applying the AI tool with the same – or more – or more – as traditional data security protocol. We go beyond basic encryption and access control using advanced encryption standards such as end-to-end encryption and zero-trust architecture. We ensure that the AI system has a strong certification mechanism, rigid role-based access control and continuous monitoring to detect discrepancies. In addition, we apply strict data governance framework, which ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements such as GDPR, CCPA and other privacy laws. We also apply privacy-by-design principles, embedding data safety measures in the AI development process from the beginning. By taking advantage of these proven security practices and constantly adapting them to the developed scenario of AI, we help reduce risks and build confidence, ensuring that the customer data is safe, private and morally managed in all stages of its life cycle. Additionally, Litera is one of a particular group of independent software vendors (ISVs) in partnership industries with Litera Microsoft, which to increase the impact of Copilot and Microsoft 365, to enhance the best-in-in-safety and accurate to enhance the best-in-in-safety and accurate to strengthen the workflows for lawyers.
Can you talk about the importance of finding a balance between AI and human touch?
AI cannot replace quality and expert probe
Fine decisions, sympathy, and complex strategic thinking that defines effective legal practice, it is naturally human.
Finding the right balance between AI and human touch is safe for safe, moral, practical and strategic AI use.
Lawyers bring creativity and insight that AI cannot repeat. And to expand the demands of the legal world, quality and attention will always require a check -up of professionals. Lawyers are seen as craftsmen, who emphasize the thoughtful construction of the work product guided by their customers’ needs. AI should only act as a tool to enhance the thinking process rather than accelerating the work output. This is important to connect with the right data, take advantage of the firm’s exemption and expertise, and ensure integration in devices such as words and outlooks at the exact moment and location to maintain a harmonious balance between AI and human cooperation.
Law firm CIO and CKO also play an important role in AI adoption. They are like the conductors of the orchestra, ensuring that the firm intelligence and significant information flow in all stakeholders. They help explain and analyze the data and ensure that it reaches the right people – partners, colleagues, marketing officers, paralying, and more. Their expertise and human decision is that the legal industry hopes that the firms are expected to stand in a competitive place.
AI may be able to automate or even generate insight, but the “art” of the law – the interpretation of customer relations, the ability to strategically and to build – remains a priority. We need to take advantage of AI’s efficiency, but we cannot lose the important human touch that creates faith and gives extraordinary legal advice.
What do you think how legal technology will continue to develop in the next decade?
Data-driven legal practice
There will be a significant change towards data-operated legal practice in the next decade. Lawyers take advantage of fast advanced analytics and are centralized, easily obtained information to predict the results of the case, assess risks and optimize legal strategies.
Legal technology will democratizing access to legal services through online platforms, providing cheap advice and document assistance, making legal aid access and access to wider.
Microsoft 365
We will see an increase in technology vendors availing Microsoft-based innovation to take full advantage of the existing investments of firms in Microsoft Tools including Office 365 and Sharepoint. In Litera, Microsoft is investing in the future of our industry, working with us as a partner. For example, our latest acquisition of peppermint technology allows Litera to receive the value-soliding plug-in by adding the value law firms to be added to our broad suit of legal technology solutions.
Data security and compliance is more important than ever
I cannot give enough emphasis on this: as the amount of sensitive legal data increases, increased data security and compliance will be paramount. Legal techniques will require strong encryption and data safety measures to prefer, with AI-managed danger detection and prevention, with equipment designed to ensure compliance with data privacy rules.
My vision in Litera is to basically integrate AI, data safety and human expertise how to get legal teams to get cooperation, strategic and extraordinary results.
