These six bright stars have really stood out this season.
The Winter Hexagon is an easily seen grouping of six of the 20 brightest stars in the sky. Go out now after dark and look east.

In this episode, Astronomy The magazine’s editor emeritus Dave Eichler invites you to step outside and look at six of the 20 brightest stars in the sky. Because they are all close enough to each other, you can draw lines from one to the other and create a hexagon. And because of the season it is best visible, observers call this asterism the Winter Hexagon. May you be successful!
