During a roundtable discussion at the White House on Wednesday, President Donald Trump suggested that CBS is “hopefully” under a “great new owner.”
Trump hosted an “Antifa Roundtable” with U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and several right-wing and independent media journalists. The reporters discussed their first-hand experience dealing with the radical left-wing group, which Trump recently designated a domestic terrorist organization.
During the discussion, journalists also criticized mainstream media outlets for ignoring stories about Antifa or misreporting events, such as CNN’s “furious but mostly peaceful protests” from the 2020 riots.
Trump is reportedly in talks to do his first ’60 Minutes’ interview following the CBS deal.

Trump agreed with their criticism, accusing Antifa of working “in collusion” with parts of the media. He attacked more media networks, although he expressed optimism for CBS.
“I think ABC is terrible,” Trump said. “I think NBC is terrible. And CBS has a new owner, so we have hope for CBS. CBS has a great new owner [in] My opinion. But, as I will tell you, ABC is terrible. NBC is terrible. MSNBC too. You know, they changed it. They pushed it through legally, so they couldn’t be affected by the words ‘MSNBC,’ but they’re absolutely terrible out there, there are so many of them.”

Trump is likely referring to the recent merger in August between Paramount Global, CBS’s parent company, and Skydance Media. Both companies are now under Skydance CEO David Ellison, who has made CBS News one of his top new priorities.
One of the major changes under Ellison included the hiring of Bari Weiss as editor-in-chief of CBS News after Paramount acquired her media company, The Free Press. Weiss will partner with current CBS News president Tom Sibrowski and report directly to Ellison.

During the roundtable discussion, Trump asked some journalists which networks they thought were the worst offenders. He agreed with the person who ranked MSNBC worst, followed by CNN.

Trump said, “MSNBC. Brian Roberts, that they allowed this to happen, it’s outrageous. And CNN is second. I would say CNN is not as bad as MSNBC. MSNBC is sick.”
