President Donald Trump announced Sunday that the US Navy will begin blocking ships in the Strait of Hormuz, the news coming as he said Iran had promised to open the strait but ultimately did not do so.
“So, there you have it, the meeting went well, agreed upon on most points, but the only point that really mattered, nuclear, was not there. Effective immediately, the United States Navy, the finest in the world, will begin the process of blockading any and all ships attempting to enter or leave the Strait of Hormuz,” the president wrote in a post on Truth Social on Sunday morning.
He continued:
At some point, we will get to the basis of “everyone will be allowed in, everyone will be allowed out”, but Iran has not allowed that to happen by simply saying, “There might be a mine out there somewhere,” that no one knows about except them. This is world extortion, and the leaders of countries, especially the United States, will never be extorted. I have also directed my Navy to search and interdict any ship paying toll to Iran in international waters. Any person paying illegal toll will not have safe passage on the high seas.
We will also begin destroying mines laid by the Iranians in the strait. Any Iranian who fires at us or peaceful ships will be blown to hell! Iran knows better than anyone how to end this situation that has already devastated their country. Their navy is gone, their air force is gone, their anti-aircraft planes and radar are useless, Khomeini and most of their “leaders” are dead, all because of their nuclear ambitions. The blockade will start soon. Other countries will also join this blockade. Iran will not be allowed to profit from this illegal act of extortion. They want money and more importantly they want nuclear energy. Furthermore, at the appropriate time, we are completely “locked and loaded”, and our forces will eliminate what remains of Iran! President Donald J. Trump
On Saturday, Vice President JD Vance said the US delegation to Pakistan decided to leave peace talks with Iran after 21 hours when it became clear the Islamic regime would not agree to the terms put forward by the United States, Breitbart News reported.
“We’ve had many substantive discussions with the Iranians, that’s the good news. The bad news is that we haven’t reached an agreement, and I think that’s bad news for Iran, more so than the United States. So we go back to the United States without an agreement,” Vance explained.

meanwhile, daily Mail Reported a pair of American warships, USS franklin peterson and uss Michael MurphyPassed through the strait on Saturday.
The outlet said, “The Strait of Hormuz is a powder keg: only 21 miles wide at its narrowest point, filled with mines and within striking distance of missiles and drones fired from the labyrinth of Iranian mountains. Any move by the U.S. Navy to block or forcibly secure it would risk huge losses.”
In another social media post on Sunday, Trump said, “Iran promised to open the Strait of Hormuz, and they knowingly failed to do so. This caused anxiety, chaos, and pain to many people and countries around the world. They say they put mines in the water, even though their entire navy and most of their ‘mine droppers’ were completely destroyed.”
He said, “The meeting with Iran started early in the morning, and lasted all night – about 20 hours. I could go into great detail, and talk about what was achieved, but, there is only one thing that matters – Iran is not ready to give up its nuclear ambitions!”
However, the President also said that “Iran will never have a nuclear weapon!”
