President Donald Trump criticized a reporter for asking whether he had “real plans to launch airstrikes on Venezuela in the near future,” questioning how he should answer “such a question.”
While traveling on Air Force One from Florida to Washington, D.C., a reporter said Trump had previously said it was “not true” about reports that he had decided to launch strikes “inland into Venezuela.” trump express reaction When asked by a reporter whether he had “real plans” to attack Venezuela in the future, he responded by pointing out that if that were the case, would he admit it?
“You said it is not true that you have decided to strike inland into Venezuela? But, are there actual plans for those strikes in the near future?” the reporter asked Trump.
“How can I answer such a question?” Trump replied. “‘Are there plans to attack Venezuela?’ Who would say that? Let’s say that – would I honestly say that to you? ‘Yes, we have plans! We have very secret plans!’ Who would say that? What kind of question is this?”
Trump further said that he would “watch what happens with Venezuela.”
“Venezuela sent us thousands and thousands of people from prisons, from mental institutions, from drug addicts, and so did other countries,” Trump said. He said that the United States is “run by very stupid people.”
The reporter’s question about plans to attack Venezuela came after Trump told reporters on Air Force One on Friday that it was “not true” that he was considering launching an attack on Venezuela. hillTrump’s reply came after a report by wall street journal Claimed, “The Trump administration had identified military facilities used to smuggle drugs into Venezuela as potential locations for air strikes”:
While on Air Force One en route to Florida, Trump was asked about those reports and whether he had made up his mind about possible attacks.
“No. That’s not true,” Trump responded.
The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that the Trump administration had identified military facilities in Venezuela that were used to smuggle drugs as potential targets for attacks. The news outlet said Trump has not made a final decision about whether to carry out strikes inside Venezuela.
As Breitbart News has reported, the Trump administration has carried out several attacks on drug-trafficking ships in international waters near Venezuela.
Randy Clark of Breitbart News reported that the Trump administration has conducted a total of 14 “military strikes” on drug-trafficking vessels, and that “an estimated 57 narco-terrorist traffickers have been killed” as a result of the strikes:
The latest attacks on narco-trafficking ships by US military forces bring the total number of military attacks on ships to 14 since President Trump began a military campaign against narco-terrorist traffickers in early September. The latest attacks come just a week after the first in the eastern Pacific Ocean, off the coast of Colombia. That attack marked the expansion of a campaign that until then had been limited to the Caribbean Sea, Breitbart Texas reported.
So far, an estimated 57 narco-terrorist traffickers have been killed in US military actions targeting their ships at sea in the Caribbean Sea and the eastern Pacific Ocean.
Venezuelan socialist dictator Nicolas Maduro recently issued a message to Trump in English, saying, “No crazy war, please.”
Maduro, who has accused the Trump administration of using “drug-fighting operations as a pretext” for an invasion of the country, is wanted by the United States government, according to the State Department website.
According to the website:
Nicolás Maduro Moros became President of Venezuela after the death of Hugo Chávez in 2013 and declared victory in the presidential election in 2018. In 2019, the Venezuelan National Assembly enacted the Venezuelan Constitution and declared that Maduro had seized power and was no longer President of Venezuela. Since 2019, more than 50 countries, including the United States, have refused to recognize Maduro as Venezuela’s head of state.
During an interview with CBS News correspondent Norah O’Donnell, Trump was asked about “the issue of possible land strikes in Venezuela”, to which he explained that he does not talk to reporters about “whether he’s going to launch a strike or not”.
“In Venezuela in particular, are Maduro’s days as president numbered?”. O’Donnell asked.
“I would say, yes. I think so,” Trump said.
“And, is this issue of possible land attacks in Venezuela true?” O’Donnell questioned.
Trump responded, “I don’t tell you that. I’m not saying it’s true or false. I wouldn’t like to say that I would.” He said he did not “talk to any reporter about whether he was going to carry out an air strike or not.”
