
More children are hitting links.
According to the National Golf Foundation, 3.7 million youth, age 6 Through 17, played a golf on a course in 2024, which increased by 50 percent from five years ago.
One of the All-Time Great, Annika Sorenstam, is behind a new attempt to help even more young people in playing the game. Sörenstam has participated with Bank of America for an initiative called “Golf with As”.
“This initiative is close to my heart because it is a way to help the golf game grow, and we are going to do so that young children are going to make golf more economical, by giving up (tinge) (tinge) …. An annual membership, you get a chance to play on thousands of courses for five dollars.
And Sorenstam says that golf is not only about competing on the course. “If you are a golfer, you need a lot of patience and, as you know, when you are in the world or normally life, patience is really important,” she says.
Sörenstam also points to discipline, focus and determination, the qualities that say that both are required in golf and life outside the game.
