Fifteen people were injured, and one suspect is in custody. Stabbing and chemical attack At a tire factory in central Japan.
The 38-year-old attacker allegedly stabbed eight people and wounded seven others with something believed to be bleach on Friday at Yokohama Rubber Co.’s facility in Mishima, west of Tokyo, authorities said.
Kyodo news agency quoted investigation sources as saying that the motive for the incident was unclear, but the suspect was believed to be a former factory employee.
Japanese newspaper Asahi said the suspect was carrying a survival knife and was wearing what appeared to be a gas mask.

The Fujisan Nanto Fire Department told The Associated Press that five of those who were stabbed were in critical condition.
Images and video taken at the scene showed first responders crowding the factory.

Shizuoka Prefectural Police said the attacker was arrested For alleged attempt to murder.
Media reports said all the stabbing victims were conscious when taken to local hospitals.

Seven other people were also hospitalized with injuries from bleach thrown on them during the attack, the fire department said.
