Cotton prices are showing an increase of 59 to 92 points. In Thursday’s session, the futures contract closed with a gain of 26 to 33 points. That day the future price of crude oil was down by $1.17 per barrel. The US dollar index was stable that day.
Seam reported online sales of 6,265 bales on Jan. 22 at an average price of 60.91 cents/lb. ICE cotton stock remained unchanged at 218 bales of certified stock on Monday. The Cotlook A index was up 5 points at 78.10 cents/lb on 1/22. The USDA adjusted world price (AWP) was at 53.71 cents/lb on Thursday afternoon, down 27 points from last week.
