
Sandakan: Life Water BHD, a domestic bottled water manufacturer, is currently in the midst of setting up an additional drinking water manufacturing line in its existing Sandkan Sibug Plant 1.
It is part of the development company’s expansion strategy that is mentioned in its initial public offering (IPO) prospectus.
The new manufacturing line is expected to be operational in the second half of 2025 and will promote the company’s annual drinking water production capacity by an additional 178 million liters.
With the recent beginning of its Kennau plant, the current annual drinking water production capacity of Life Water is 448 million liters.
On completion of the new line in Sandakan Sibug Plant 1, the total capacity of the group will increase to 626 million liters per year.
Capital expenditure for this project is about RM19.0 million.

“This industry underlines our commitment to adopt 4.0 practices, while more Malaysians continue to distribute quality drinking water to people.
“Industry will be equipped with automated systems to increase the new manufacturing line operating efficiency, in accordance with 4.0 practices.
“With smart control system and energy-efficient technology, the company estimates adequate utility savings-29,700 tonnes of water and 215,424 kWh energy is estimated.
“The new line will also support our bottle light-weating efforts, which can reduce the use of plastic and reduce overall carbon emissions in the entire production.
And the distribution process, ”Liaw said.
“These reforms are part of our comprehensive strategy to score responsibly and contribute to low carbon, resource-skilled future.”
