Meta allegedly plans to launch its Artificial Intelligence (AI) Chatbot as a standalone app. The company currently provides Meta AI within its social media apps including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp. It is also available as a web client, however, the social media giants do not offer the platform as a mobile or desktop app. According to the report, the company now wants to increase the footprint of its AI assistant and create a deep personal experience for users to compete with prominent players in space such as Openi and Google.
A CNBC report claimed that the tech giants are planning to launch Meta AI as a separate app, with their current social media platforms. Citing people familiar to the case, the report claimed that the app could be launched in the second quarter of the year, which is between April and June.
The plan to launch a standalone meta AI app is allegedly part of CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s ambition, which is to make the company a leader in the AI space before the end of 2025. The company is asked to be seen as Openai’s chat and Google’s Gemini as key contestants, both are available as independent apps.
In addition, the company is allegedly planned to test a premium version of the meta AI that will offer additional facilities. It is said that the paid is available to the customers, similar to the mudrikaran model leveraged by Openai, Microsoft and Google. Meta’s Chief Financial Officer Susan Lee allegedly told analysts that the company is aiming to create a “great consumer experience” with AI assistant earlier this year. Additionally, Lee highlighted “clear mugration opportunities” with Meta AI through the recommendations of allegedly payment.
Zuckerberg allegedly expressed the ambition to create Meta AI as a “highly intelligent and individual AI assistant”, which reached more than one billion people during the company’s fourth quarter earnings in January. According to a separate report, he also said that Tech giant will spend $ 65 billion (about Rs 5,61,908 crore) on AI projects in 2025. This amount is said to include a new data center and expansion of AI teams.
