Kentucky Senate Republican candidate Nate Morris suggested that the Nobel Peace Prize be renamed after President Donald Trump after the president announced that Israel and Hamas “have signed the first phase” of a peace plan.
“President Trump doesn’t deserve a Nobel Peace Prize for getting this deal across the finish line, they should have this damn thing named after him,” Morris said in a post on X-In. feedback On Trump’s posts on Truth Social.
Morris’ statement came after Trump revealed in a social media post that “Israel and Hamas have both signed on to the first phase of the peace plan”. Trump also said this meant that “all hostages will soon be released, and Israel will withdraw its troops to an agreed line as a first step toward a strong, durable, and lasting peace.”
“All parties will be treated fairly!” Trump added in his post. “This is a great day for the Arab and Muslim world, Israel, all surrounding countries, and the United States, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey who worked with us to make this historic and unprecedented event possible.”
In a post on X, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Express He said it was “a great day for Israel” and thanked Trump and his administration “from the bottom of our hearts” for mobilizing for this sacred mission of releasing the remaining hostages.
“Tomorrow I will call on the government to ratify the agreement and bring home all our beloved hostages,” Netanyahu said. “I thank the heroic soldiers of the IDF and all security forces, whose courage and sacrifice have brought us to today. I thank President Trump and his team from the bottom of my heart for their contributions to this sacred mission of releasing our hostages.”
The Times of Israel reported that a ceasefire agreement could be signed in Egypt on Thursday.
