Police have confirmed that Penampang Crocodile Farm is fully licensed, after a viral video of the crocodile habitat sparked public concern and speculation.
Penampang: Police have confirmed that a local crocodile farming facility is operating legally after a viral social media video.
The one-minute clip showing the crocodile’s habitat raised public concern, leading to a police inspection.
Penampang District Police Chief Superintendent Sammy Newton said the video was believed to have been recorded near the farm in question.
Investigation confirmed that the farm held a valid farming and crocodile meat trading license from the Sabah Wildlife Department.
“Our investigation of the facility has confirmed that the farm is legally run and holds a valid farming as well as trading license for crocodile meat issued by the Sabah Wildlife Department,” he said.
Sammy advised the public against speculation and sharing information responsibly.
