Cramtorusk: Russia and Ukraine on Sunday accused each other of violating the Easter Trus of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Ukraine President Volodimier Zelansky said that Russian forces had continued their shelling and attacks with the front line despite the announcement of Putin surprising.
The 30 -hour trussians starting on Saturday evening to mark the religious holiday can be the most important stagnation in the fight in a three -year struggle.
The Ukrainian Air Force did not report any drone launch or missile attacks overnight.
But Zelansky accused Russia that after the start of the Trus, Russia maintained its attacks on the front line.
The Russian Ministry of Defense in turn said it attempted an “again” attack by Ukraine and accused the Kie of launching hundreds of drones and shells, causing civilians.
The ministry said, “Despite the announcement of Easter Trus, Ukrainian units attempted to attack at night” Russia’s posts said in the Donnetsk region.
A woman and two children were injured by a drone attack in the Belgorod border area of Russia, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.
In the occupied part of the Donnetsk region, Russian-appointed Mayor Ivan Prekhodko said that two civilians were injured without giving details.
Zelansky said Ukraine launched hundreds of attacks and drones on Sunday.
Zelancesi said, “The Ukrainian army is acting and will continue to work in an absolutely mirror image in Russia.”
The Russian Ministry of Defense stressed that its troops “strictly observed the ceasefire”.
In February 2022, Russia began its full -scale invasion of neighboring Ukraine and now captured about 20 percent of the country.
‘Fewer people will die’
Putin’s order to prevent all the match in the Easter weekend came after months of efforts by US President Donald Trump to agree to Moscow and Kiev to the ceasefire.
On Friday, Washington also threatened to withdraw from talks, if no progress was made.
Ukrainian soldiers told AFP that they had seen a lullah in the fight.
A drone unit commander stated that Russia’s activity “both in Zaporizhjia and Kharkiv regions have decreased significantly”, the war-torn area in the south and north-east where the unit is active.
The commander told the AFP, “Many attacks were recorded, but they were solitary incidents involving small groups,” AFP said, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
“Fewer people (soldiers) will die today.”
Russian “artillery is not working. It is cool compared to a regular day,” Junior Lieutenant Sergi, who fights in the Sumi border area, wrote to AFP in a message.
“The drones are flying, of course. They are mostly reconnaissant drones, not strikes.”
Ukrainian soldiers “are on defensive”, he said. “If the enemy does not move forward, they do not shoot.”
AFP journalists standing at a high convenience point in Eastern Ukraine heard less than normal explosions and did not see any smoke on the horizon.
‘give Peace a chance’
Putin announced the Trus in television comments from 6 pm (1500 grams) to midnight Sunday (2100 GMT Sunday) on Saturday evening, saying it was inspired by “human reasons”.
While he hoped Ukraine would comply with, Putin said that Russian soldiers should “be ready to oppose the possible violations of the Trus and provocation by the enemy”.
Zelansky stated that Ukraine would follow the suit, and “give a chance to Shanti” to expand the Truses for 30 days beyond Sunday.
He said on Sunday that Russia “has not yet responded to it”.
Putin had earlier rejected a proposed 30-day full and unconditional ceasefire.
The ceasefire for Easter in April 2022 and the previous attempts for the Orthodox Christmas in January 2023 were not implemented when the two sides failed to agree on them.
‘Can’t trust Russia’
In Kiev on Sunday, as Easter Bells exit, people doubted whether Russia would inspect the Trus or Zelansky’s proposal to expand it.
38 -year -old Olga Grechova said, “They have already broken their promises. Unfortunately, we can’t trust Russia today,”
“Our President has clearly stated that if they declare a 30-hour ceasefire, we will declare a 30-day ceasefire. So let them go for it … so that this terrible war is over, so that our people, our soldiers stop dying,” Sargi Clochekko, 30, said a railway worker.
But Natalia, a 41-year-old drug, said about the 30-day proposal of Zelanceci: “Everything we provide is unfortunately, only our offers. Nobody responds to them.”
On the streets of Moscow, people said they welcomed an Easter Trus, but expressed uncertainty on whether it had brought the end of the war closer.
34 -year -old housewife Svetlana said, “We definitely dreamed that Shanti would come from Easter. Let it come soon.”
73 -year -old pensioner Irina Volcova said, “I think this terrible thing will end at some point, but not soon.”
“Everything is not well for us in Ukraine,” he said: “People are dying, our people are dying.”
