2 ‘Troubleshooters’ – Uranus and Pluto – Are in transit throughout may.
May 2026 begins on Pluto tone Pluto square with the Full Moon in Scorpio, followed by Pluto retrograde. Hello Pluto!
As we move through the month, The atmosphere becomes increasingly Uranian. – Starting with the New Moon in the latter part of Taurus (conjunction with Uranus), followed by Mercury and the Sun in conjunction with Uranus.
At the end of the month, we return to plutoWhich is pushing us towards the long-awaited spring cleansing of old identities from the Age of Capricorn.
And if this all seems a bit much – and it certainly can feel that way – remember that Uranus, now in Gemini, is moving into a trine with Pluto.
These two aren’t just wreaking havoc for fun – they have a plan. On Olympus it all makes perfect sense.
It would make sense to us too, a little further down the road.
In the meantime, May asks us to trust the process. If something is breaking, it’s because it’s supposed to be. If an opportunity knocks, open the door. Let the universe do its thing – and trust that the chaos has a plan.
But let’s take a look at the most important transits of the month:
May 1, 2026 – Full Moon in Scorpio
On May 1, 2026 we will have a Full Moon at 11° Scorpio. This Full Moon is T-square Pluto, its ruler, Mars, is square Jupiter, and the cherry on top, Mercury is conjunct Chiron. That’s a full full moon chart!
Whatever is being bottled up in your life will now erupt like a volcano, providing a much-needed clearing of the air.
Like any Full Moon on the Taurus-Scorpio axis, transactional topics come into focus. Who is doing what? Who is giving more? Who’s keeping score? This is a moment to look at the balance of your exchanges with others.
With Mercury conjunct Chiron, some of these conversations may touch upon old wounds, and that’s okay. Sometimes the boil also gets cured.
May 3, 2026 – Mercury will enter Taurus
On 3rd May 2026, Mercury enters Taurus – and we will all feel an exhale. Mercury has faced tough situations: retrograde in Pisces, then being influenced by all those planets in Aries.
Now it has finally found a safe home in Taurus, where Uranus has also left the building, having just moved into Gemini.
However, enjoy it while it lasts. Mercury is already exerting a tense square with stable Pluto, pushing for resolution (even more so) in the wake of the Full Moon.
May 6, 2026 – Pluto turns retrograde
On 6th May 2026, Pluto turns retrograde at 5° Aquarius. As usual, when a slow-moving planet like Pluto changes direction, its energy intensifies.
It doesn’t have to be a Plutocalypse – although when Pluto appears, we know we have no choice but to change.
The more we identify exactly what needs to be done, the more powerful the process becomes. Pluto feels like destruction only when we’re clinging to something that’s already happened.
May 14, 2026 – Sun will conjunct Mercury in Taurus
May 14, 2026 – Sun is in conjunction with Mercury at 23° taurusWhich means we are in the middle of the Mercury cycle, and have experienced the “full Mercury” phase of the current cycle.
Initial ideas and projects that have been taking root over the past few months are starting to show their first real development above ground.
May 16, 2026 – Mars Conjunction Chiron
On 16th May 2026, Mars is conjunct Chiron at 28° Aries. Since 2018, Chiron in Aries has been helping us heal the wounds of our identity – and with Mars, the planet of self-affirmation, old wounds resurface.
The Mars-Chiron transit may bring back situations where we felt disempowered, bullied, or dismissed. Times when our boundaries were crossed and we either didn’t know how to hold them, or we felt we weren’t allowed to.
This is the last Mars-Chiron conjunction in Aries (at least for the next 4+ decades). Looking back now, we can recognize that the struggle – Many times we were treated as if we didn’t matter
– And all those stories we’ve been telling ourselves along the way that ‘there must be something wrong with me’ – were never true.
This is where it ends. No more crossing the border. What matters is who we are and what we want. And as long as you’re not trampling on someone else’s authority, we don’t have to accept anything that won’t let us be ourselves.
This is what Chiron in Aries has been building to all these years. Soon, Chiron will enter Taurus and bring Other areas need to be fixed.
May 16, 2026 – New Moon in Taurus
On May 16, 2026 we will have a New Moon at 25° Taurus.
The New Moon is conjunct Mercury and Uranus, and sextile Jupiter in Cancer. The ruler of the new moon is Venus, the sixth is Mars.
This is one of the more auspicious New Moons – strong aspects, supportive flow, and enough Uranus to change the way we look at things.
At the New Moon in Taurus, we begin to see opportunities that were always right in front of our noses, but somehow didn’t recognize their potential.
Now, with some minor changes and a rework, we can make something real out of them. Eureka!
May 16, 2026 – Mercury enters Gemini, in conjunction with Uranus
On 16th May, Mercury enters Gemini – its home sign – and conjuncts Uranus the very next day.
This is our first Mercury-Uranus conjunction In Gemini, and this will not go unnoticed.
Whether it comes from without, through a surprise announcement, or from within – in the form of a change in the way you see things – things will begin to change in a new way.
May 21, 2026 – Sun enters Gemini, Uranus conjunction
on 21 may 2026 Sun enters Gemini – Happy Birthday to all Geminis!
This is the first season of Uranus in Gemini in nearly 80 years. If your planets or ascendant are in Gemini, or if you know people who do, the change will be quite obvious.
This Gemini season, expect to feel more free, lighter, and less ‘boxed in’, especially in the areas of life ruled by Gemini in your chart.
May 26, 2026 – Mars square Pluto, Sun trine Pluto
On 26 May 2026, Pluto is square Mars and trine Sun.
This Pluto calls for a deep kind of spring cleaning or two. Whatever is driving the ‘I can’t do it’ becomes clear for what it is – an excuse – as we use it to promote a version of ourselves that no longer needs it.
May 31, 2026 – Full Moon in Sagittarius
On May 31, 2026, we end the month with a Full Moon at 9° SagittariusTrine Neptune and Saturn in Aries square the Nodes.
After ‘surviving’ Uranus and Pluto, something has changed – and there is now room to breathe, look around and wonder.
We may find ourselves in a completely different place, whether it’s the same living room, the same commute, or the same life.
When our perspective changes, we stop reacting where we were, and begin to recognize what is truly calling us forward.
