Former Vice President Mike Pence on Monday said on CNN’s “The Source” that President Donald Trump’s tariff hurts consumers who want cheap goods.
Pence said, “I am worried that with the President’s call for a comprehensive -based tariff against friends and enemies, the administration is eventually advancing policies that are not targeted on countries that are misusing our trade relations, but essentially new industrial policy that will result in inflation that will cause damage to consumers and eventually harm American economy.”
Host Catalan Collins said, “An argument that he has recently is doing is that perhaps children will have to do with less toys, less dolls.”
He asked, “Do you think American people buy that argument?”
Pence said, “I have two big daughters. I have three small granddaughters. And look, keeping the doll cheap, keeping my children’s toys cheap, this is really part of the American dream.
