WhatsApp for Android is reportedly working on two new Artificial Intelligence (AI) features that can present new ways of interaction with the app. According to the report, the instant messaging platform is working on an AI-managed rewriting facility that can change a typed message in various styles. This feature is also called before proofing the messages of users. The platform can also develop a two-way live voice chat feature for Meta AI, which can provide users a hand-free experience when interacting with the chatbot.
WhatsApp for Android may soon bring two new AI features
According to a report by the Android Authority, the messaging platform may be prepared to introduce a text-revolving feature that is powered by AI. Publication highlighted the new feature during an Android application package (APK) tearing of the app. It was reportedly seen in the wire of the WhatsApp code for the Android version 2.25.8.5. Since this is not a visual feature, users will not be able to test it yet. ,

The AI Rewrite feature is said to be available as a floating action button (FAB) with a pencil icon just above the Send button. The button allegedly appears only after typing the user in the text box in a chat or a group. After some words are written, users can allegedly tap the pencil icon to reach a lesson editor. There, users are asked to be able to apply one of the several lessons rewrite options.
According to the report, rewriting options offered by the feature include fun, proofrid, punishment, refrains, satirical, small, scary and accessories. Of these, the proofrid option is asked to fix spelling and grammar errors in the message, while the rest change the tunnel of the lesson.
Separately, WhatsApp feature tracker webtanfo claimed in a post that the instant messaging app Meta is working on a new growth for AI. Currently, users can interact with text-based conversations with chatbott, ask questions, find information from the web, generate images, and even share signs as a voice message. However, it is not possible to have a two-way voice chat with AI.
It can turn into future updates. The feature tracker watched a new call-lic interface for Meta AI in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.8.7 update. However, since it is subject to development, beta examiners will not be able to use it.

Depending on the screenshot shared by the feature tracker, the meta AI interface feature will automatically start a call-like session. Users will have the option to switch to text-cavalry mode or only AI will have to speak orally while the user sends text messages. The two-way live voice conversation looks similar to the Mithun Live.
Wabetainfo claims that the users will be able to continue the conversation even when they are in the background and the user switchs to another app. Additionally, a muted button can also be seen that will allow users to mute their audio in the noise environment. Users will also have the option to eliminate the call at any time.
In particular, in September 2024, the company unveiled the Meta AI Voice Chat feature with Celebrity Voice. However, it was essentially a text-to-spicch (TTS) growth, and nothing similar to the advanced voice mode of the spat. It is not clear that the reported feature is only a new form of that, or a more human-like voice chat experience.
