Ekadashi in May 2026: Puja rituals
1. Wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath before starting the puja rituals. It would be better to wake up in Brahma Muhurta. 2. Chant the name during Brahma Muhurta on the day of Ekadashi, which is considered really praiseworthy. 3. Take a wooden plank and place an idol of Lord Vishnu in it. 4. Light a lamp of desi ghee, decorate the idol with new clothes and a garland of yellow flowers. 5. Choose one or two mantras of Lord Vishnu and chant it 108 times to invoke the idol. 6. Worship is considered incomplete without offering Tulsi leaves. But Tulsi leaves should be broken on the day of Ekadashi only. It would be better to pluck these leaves a day in advance. 7. Offer five seasonal fruits, dry fruits and home-made sweets as Bhog Prasad. 8. Recite Ekadashi Katha and complete your puja by performing aarti. 9. The fast is broken on Dwadashi Tithi, but some people who cannot bear the hunger, break their fast in the evening and eat satvik food recommended for the fast and others break their fast on the next day on Dwadashi Tithi.
