
Qualampur: United States (US) Tech giant Intel and Oracle have expressed concern about the impact of the United States (US) tariff on their operations in Malaysia, said Tengku Datuk Seeri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI).
In a video posted on X (East Twitter), Tengku Zafrul said that the two companies had engaged with the Malaysian government to discuss the challenges caused by Tariff.
He said that both Intel and Oracle have discussed with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim that they are facing some challenges, in front of which Intel has highlighted the importance of his supply chain for the business feasibility of his business.
“We have again asked to support with industries, as our interests have been aligned, especially for American companies that are located in Malaysia and are exporting their goods back to America.
He said, “They mostly export intermediate goods, while finished goods are produced in America. It is important for them to explain why it is beneficial for America,” he said.
He said that the government is actively engaged with Intel, Oracle, and other American companies working in Malaysia, which provides convenience through organizations such as the US-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and the US-ASian Chamber of Commerce.
