Iowa State tight end Benjamin Brahmer had to be taken to the hospital Saturday after falling to the field after a big hit by Arizona State’s Keith Abney II.
That moment came midway through the fourth quarter. Brahmer was tracking a pass from Cyclones quarterback Rocco Becht when Abney came in and hit the 6’7 junior hard.
Brahmer was very slow getting to his feet and managed to take a few steps before suddenly collapsing.
Brahmer began to tremble as the training staff looked after him.
Players from both sides took a knee, many with a pained look of concern for the injured player on their faces.
Brahmer was eventually carried off the field and fans thanked him as he left.
