The report into the deaths of Rob and Michelle Renner, which was “initiated” by the Los Angeles Police Department, has been sealed by court order.
On Monday, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner posted a press release stating that although Michelle and Rob’s cause of death reports had previously been made public, they had redacted them.
“Although the cause and manner of death in these cases were previously released, the information is no longer available due to a court order. Any other case information or records, including medical examiner reports, cannot be released or posted on the website until further notice,” the press release said.

The press release said the Medical Examiner’s Department received the court order at 10:30 am on December 24.
The medical examiner’s office said more information would be shared once the court order is lifted.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the LAPD for comment.
“Although the cause and manner of death were previously released in these cases, due to a court order, the information is no longer available.”
On December 23, Rob and Michelle’s death certificates were released.

The certifications also confirm what was disclosed last week by Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office That Rainers died as a result of multiple sharp force injuries. The certificates stated that the injuries were inflicted “by a knife, by someone else”.

On Sunday, December 14, police found Rob and Michelle’s bodies in the primary bedroom of their home in Brentwood, California.
The couple’s son, Nick, was immediately named a person of interest in the investigation, and a few hours later, at approximately 9:15 pm local time the same day, he was arrested.

On December 16, authorities charged Nick with the double murder of his parents. He was charged with two counts of first-degree murder with a special circumstance of multiple murders.

“He also faces a specific allegation that he personally used a dangerous and deadly weapon, that being a knife,” Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said during a press conference. “These charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death penalty.”

No decision has been made on whether prosecutors will seek death penalty,
Nick made his first court appearance in the case on December 17, where his attorney, renowned defense attorney Alan Jackson, requested a continuance of the case. Now his appearance has been fixed for January 7.
