Washington -Chairman Donald Trump on Tuesday signed four executive works, which aims to protect and increase the US coal industry.
Trump signed orders during an East Room event, which was attended by key cabinet members such as Internal Secretary Dag Bergam, Energy Secretary Chris Right and Environment Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin.
The first order was that “directs all departments and agencies of the federal government to end all discriminatory policies against the coal industry,” the White House Employees Secretary Will Slolf announced at the signature ceremony.
“This ends the leasing adjournment that prevents new coal projects on federal land, and it is going to accelerate all permission and funding for new coal projects to give the coal industry to flourish under your leadership,” Sharaf told Trump.
The second action puts a postponement on the policies of previous administration which endanger coal plants across the country.
“There are currently dozens of coal plants in the US that are in anxious danger of being forced to be closed on the basis of unscientific and unrealistic policies enacted by the Biden administration,” said Sharaf.
“What we are going to do is essentially implementing a stay on policies effectively to protect coal plants that are currently working to ensure that they are capable of continuing power production, and continue to provide jobs to Americans in the coal industry,” they continued.
According to the White House Fact Sheet, the announcement “allows some coal plants to comply with the environmental protection agency (EPA) mercury and air toxics standards (MAT) rules to comply with a low stringent version, for two years,” Biden administration was implemented than more strict standards.
A third order is related to securing the grid and making it more reliable.
“This executive order is going to focus on safe and effective energy production and energy transmission, in part, to promote grid safety and reliability, in part, contrary to discriminatory policies with secure sources of power such as coal and other fossil fuels,” said Sharf.
The fourth action instructs the Department of Justice to investigate the anti-protest policies laid by the states run by the Democrats, which the administration believes is unconstitutional.
“We have one of the biggest problems in this place, Democrats States, implemented radical leftist state policies and apply an agenda that discriminates against coal, against safe sources of energy,” Sharaf said, many such policies are illegal and unconstitutional.
He said, “With this executive order, you are instructing your justice department to carry out these state policies strictly and investigate, which we think are illegal or unconstitutional,” he said.
