
Arizona Counties has initiated the process of working with the Homeland Security Department (DHS) to confirm the citizenship of voters and remove non-citizens from voter lists.
It comes after the US First Legal (AFL), against Arizona’s 15 counties, “and comes after a registered voter and natural citizen, after filing a case against Yavon Kahil, according to Fox News. In the trial, AFL argued that “the state law had not followed the state law” people needed to prove their citizenship to vote in state and local elections.
According to the outlet, “While the 2013 Supreme Court’s decision prevents the states from implementing the registration requirements beyond federal requirements that the registrar must check a box confirming his US citizenship,” voters in the state will have to show evidence that they are a United States citizens to vote in local and state elections:

Arizona law also requires that the county recorders maintain a monthly list to confirm the US citizenship of the so-called “federal-keval voters”, a list of about 50,000 persons who failed to provide evidence of American citizenship and did not allow them to vote in state or local elections.
The AFL case, which was filed in the US District Court for Arizona district in August 2024, was “terminated on 9 April, when the parties agreed on a condition of the dismissal, according to Newsweek,
