Hollywood celebrities are reportedly getting extra armed security for Sunday’s Golden Globes ceremony in Beverly Hills following the terrorist attack in New Orleans and the Tesla Cybertruck explosion in Las Vegas last week.
As Deadline reports, organizers are beefing up security for the stars by deploying more regional and federal personnel from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, the FBI and Homeland Security — many of whom are vocal gun control activists. Additionally, another report by Inside Edition states that snipers will be deployed around the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Snipers have commonly been deployed during Hollywood awards shows dating back decades. But it appears there will be a larger than usual armed presence on Sunday.
The Beverly Hills Police Department will also increase its presence.
A spokesperson for the department told Deadline that they will “continue to increase security measures during this weekend’s Golden Globes, including involving executives, professional staff, and security contractors.”
Celebrity attendees will be subject to enhanced security searches.
An unnamed police source told Deadline, “If we believe there is cause, the vehicles will be searched inside and out, regardless of who is in them.”
The Globes will close one of the busiest intersections in Los Angeles on Sunday, which is expected to impact traffic for miles around the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.
The intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard has been closed to most traffic since Sunday morning, with surrounding streets also closed to make way for the limos and SUVs carrying celebrities and their entourages.
The 82nd Golden Globes are set to begin Sunday evening at the Beverly Hilton, with CBS broadcasting live. A number of Hollywood celebrities are expected to attend the annual party, including stars like Dwayne Johnson, Nicole Kidman, Kate Winslet, Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez.
Transgenderism will dominate this year’s Globes, with Best Picture leading the charge Emilia Perez And conclave Both feature gender non-conformity as major plot points.

The Globes’ ratings have declined in recent years as millions of Americans have decided to opt out to avoid the woke sermons of wealthy celebrities.
Last year’s broadcast managed to attract only 9.4 million viewers – which is significantly down from the pre-COVID years when the show attracted twice as many viewers. As recently as 2020, approximately 18.4 million people tuned in to watch the awards show.
But organizers are hoping host Nikki Glaser will provide some much-needed laughs with her roast-style brand of stand-up comedy.
